Management Team

Dan Brady General Manager


Dan Brady is National Operations Manager of National Leisure and Gaming, one of Australia’s largest hotel and gaming operators. Dan is responsible for the mechanics of running NLG’s portfolio of 38 hotels, approximately 1000 gaming machines and 1000 employees. Dan’s responsibilities range from venue-specific matters regarding staffing, infrastructure and point of sale management, all facets of revenue capture, capital works, IT and gaming machine performance and strategies.

Prior to joining NLG, Dan built up a wealth of experience in the hotel industry through senior operational roles within The ALH Group as a senior manager, The Hotel Group as Group Operations Manager and The Palace Group of Hotels. Dan has also owned and run his own hotel.

 As a committed industry professional and astute manager of staff and resources, Dan has built a solid operational team who share his passion for NLG and the hospitality sector.

Karen Chaston - MAcc,CPA Chief Financial Officer

Karen is The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of NLG and is primarily responsible for managing the financial risks of the business. The CFO is also responsible for financial planning and record-keeping, as well as financial reporting to higher management and communicating financial performance and forecasts to the analyst community. The CFO reports to the Chief Executive Officer.

Karen has had over 10 years experience in the hospitality industry at a senior financial level. Highlights of Karen’s career prior to NLG:

• Financial Controller - Manly Pacific which is managed by the Accor Group.
• Financial Controller – Naughty Noodles Restaurant – A franchised chain of restaurants owned by The Ray Group
• Financial Systems Manager - Dreamworld – Theme Park on the Gold Coast

Whilst at Dreamworld Karen studied part-time at Bond University to achieve her MAcc. Karen achieved her CPA whilst working at the Ray Group

Alistair Flower Group Marketing Manager


Alistair oversees the national marketing and entertainment activities for NLG’s portfolio of hotels. In this role, Alistair develops and implements initiatives that increase hotel market share through extensive localised marketing plans that represent NLG’s Macro strategic revenue goals in order  to maximise profit for the respective businesses.

The localised marketing plans include Hotel promotional schedules, entertainment, sponsorship, community networking, staff culture and focus on NLGs commitment to customer relationship management. Alistair also designs effective communication campaigns through targeted advertising and public relations initiatives.

Alistair has spearheaded a number of NLG’s key supplier arrangements and introduced innovative marketing concepts through the use of Ecommerce & direct marketing database campaigns.

Alistair has had over 14 years of broad Hospitality experience in operations, entertainment and marketing management positions and joined NLG in early 2007 after heading the Marketing Dept of the Palace Group of Hotels. Alistair has previously worked on major hotel campaigns & initiatives that have been recognised and nominated for AHA awards including Marketing Campaign of the year, Sports, Entertainment and Community venues of the year. He has also worked with major international touring acts and record labels on their national tours and has consulted to companies like the Sydney Turf Club and Xbox on major events.
